2022 Ducati Panigale V4 Gets Improved Engine, Chassis, Ergonomics, Aerodynamics and Electronics

Ducati has unveiled the 2022 Panigale V4 in the fifth episode of Ducati World Premiere 2022 via the digital event. According to Ducati, the new Panigale V4 is the final step in the Ducati Corse. The company will also share and apply its knowledge from the racing world to the Italian marquee’s production motorcycles. This will allow the brand to continuously refresh the Panigale V4.

The new 2022 version of the Panigale V4 claims to be the most significant evolution since its inception. Also, the motorcycle now comes with an upgraded engine, chassis, aerodynamics, ergonomics, and electronics. The new updates are a result of an even faster motorcycle on the racetrack. The brand also boasts that the new Panigale is more intuitive, agile and less tiring for a wide range of riders. Ducati has also confirmed the new updates via special testing on the Vallelunga racing track in Italy. The brand announced that the Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S will be available from December 2021. The new Panigale will be available only in the classic “Ducati Red” colour.

2022 Ducati Panigale V4 – Aerodynamics

In the aerodynamics department, the brand offers a reprofiled fairing featuring compact and double-profile design wings. The new update offers the same vertical load of up to 37 kg at 300 kmph. The fairing also features redesigned extraction sockets, which allow the engine to run cooler and also enhance the performance of the engine. 

2022 Ducati Panigale V4 – Ergonomics

The Ducati Panigale V4 comes with updated ergonomics, such as a new technical material for the seat. The seat is flatter in shape with the rider more grip while braking, and also allows more effortless movement of the body. The tank is also reprofiled to offer more grip and comfort. Overall the rider gets more control when leaning completely outside the curves has been enhanced. 

2022 Ducati Panigale V4 – Engine

Powering the Ducati Panigale V4 is a MotoGP-derived 1103cc V4 cylinder liquid-cooled Desmosedici Stradale engine. The motor gets a new oil pump, lubrication circuit and an increased diameter of the silencer. The engine now delivers 215.5 Hp of power and 123.6 Nm of torque thanks to the new mapping.

The motorcycle also comes with a new 6-speed unit with lengthened ratio on the first, second and sixth gears. The bike also features new Power Modes logic and Full, High, Medium, Low engine configurations. The company also offers a new Akrapovic system which increases the power output to 228 Hp and torque to 131 Nm. It also reduces the weight of the motorcycle by 5 kgs. 

2022 Ducati Panigale V4 – Chassis and Electronics

The 2022 Panigale V4 comes with a lightweight front frame made of magnesium, the seat post is made with cast aluminium. The motorcycle comes with a new Ohlins NPX 25/30 electronically controlled pressurised fork. The motorcycle also gets better brakes and absorption of bumps. The bike also comes with Ohlins TTX36 rear shock absorber and an Ohlins steering damper.

The new Panigale V4 also features a 6-axis inertial platform that is capable of detecting the roll, yaw and pitch angles. The electronic package also includes 4 Riding Modes – Race A, Race B, Sport, Street, an improved dashboard and headlights.
