Yezdi Brand Making a Comeback in India

Yezdi plans to soon make a debut, again, in the Indian market. The long-defunct marquee has officially released a teaser on social media channels, revealing that the brand is planning to launch its products in India soon. Mahindra-backed, Classic Legends, the brand responsible of resurrecting the defunct Jawa brand in the Indian market will be introducing the Yezdi brand as well. Jawa is also promoting Yezdi’s arrival in the Indian market through the micro-bloggin site Twitter, leading us to believe that new motorcycles will arrive soon.

Promotions Begin For Yezdi in India

In the initial stage, Yezdi could launch two new bikes in the Indian market. According to spy images that emerged on the internet, Yezdi will launch a Scrambler motorcycle and an Adventure motorcycle. Yezdi also filed patents for the ROADKING moniker in the Indian market recently. This leads us to believe that the brand will reincarnate the name for use on the upcoming adventure motorcycle. The name of the Scrambler motorcycle is still unknown, but we believe that the bike will be an entry-level motorcycle in the Yezdi portfolio. However, the brand is likely to take the top down approach and launch the higher-spec adventure first.

Yezdi Roadking Adventure Motorcycle

The Yezdi Roadking adventure will come with an upright design similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which is also likely to be its prime competitor. The motorcycle will also feature the latest electronic features, such as a large TFT screen. Yezdi could borrow the Jawa Perak engine to power adventure motorcycle. Powering the Jawa Perak is a liquid-cooled 334cc single-cylinder engine. The motor produces 30.6 Hp of power and 32.7 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed gearbox.

We also speculate that the Scrambler could use the smaller 293cc single-cylinder unit. The engine produces 27.33 PS of power and 27.02 Nm of torque on the Jawa Classic and Forty Two.

Classic Legends to Target Wider Audience

The new Yezdi brand could attract hardcore enthusiasts of the brand helping with sales. The new motorcycle will also target a wider audience bringing new options to customers. Currently, the adventure segment is flourishing in India, and the new bike will help Classic Legends gain more sales.
