Suzuki’s Sports Tourer GSX-S1000GT Revealed

Suzuki has introduced a new Sport Touring model in the European market dubbed GSX-S1000GT. The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is likely to replace the GSX-S1000F in some markets and comes with two variants – GSX-S1000GT and GSX-S1000GT+. The top-spec GT+ model comes with pannier cases on the sides allowing the rider to safely carry their luggage and also keep things aerodynamic. In the UK the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT comes with a price tag of GBP 11,600 MSRP.

Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Design

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT comes with a sharp fairing which features twin headlamps and a unique eyebrow-like DRL. The motorcycle features a tall windscreen that helps protect the rider from the wind. The bike also comes with sharp side fairings and prominent radiator shrouds. The GSX-S1000GT also comes with an ergonomically designed seats, footpegs and handlebar optimized for long highway rides.

Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Features

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT comes with a comprehensive electronics package. The bike comes with Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), Traction Control (TC), and a Bi-directional Quick Shift system (QS). The motorcycle also comes with a TFT LCD instruments display integrated with Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.). The GSX-S1000GT comes with features such as Cruise Control. The bike also features a new stainless steel, 4-2-1 exhaust system.

Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Technical Specifications

Powering the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is a water-cooled 999cc four-cylinder motor. The engine produces 152 Bhp of power tha is channeled through a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with 10-hole fuel injectors with Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle bodies and automatic Idle Speed Control (ISC). The GSX-S1000GT also comes with Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve. SET manages the flow of exhaust gasses from the mid-chamber into the muffler optimizing the bike’s performance.

Suzuki GSX-S1000GT – Competition

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and the Ducati Supersport 950S in the international market. The brand is also likely to launch the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT in India in limited numbers.
