Maintenance tips for your motorcycle Spark plug

So when you take out the spark plug, there is soot or residue of the engine oil at the plug’s ring. The oil residue is of light greyish brown color if the engine works well.   • Remove the cap slowly without creating any trouble. If it is way too tight, then you need to use a tool to remove the plug. If you are not well aware of the proceedings, then take the help of the auto mechanics.
  • You can use a clean cloth, cotton cloth to clean the caps and inside of the spark plug. Make sure that you check for the residue color that is deposited over time. It will help you to detect the problem condition of your bike engine. 
  • It would help if you dipped the spark plug-in petrol or kerosene. This way it is easier for you to remove the dust and dirt along with the residue deposits. Once this process is done, clean the brush with metal strings and rub it thoroughly. This will remove all the mud from it, leaving a shine behind. Another option is using sandpaper for the extra brightness of the spark plug.
  • Once you are done with the cleaning, put back your spark plug carefully with the help of a spanner. Never screw it too tightly. If you aren’t confident about this, get it done by an auto expert. 
  • Clean the spark plug cord and cap as well. It carries the charge to the plug that helps in the process of ignition. Look for the leakages, if there are any, and check for the wiring as well.
