Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition Launched in India

Kawasaki recently launched the 50th Anniversary Z650RS in the international markets. The Japanese brand has now announced the launch of the special edition motorcycle in India, priced at INR 6.79 lakh ex-showroom. For the international markets, Kawasaki also unveiled the 50th-anniversary editions of the Z900 series which is also likely to arrive in India soon. The Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary commands INR 5,000 more than the standard Z650RS which was unveiled at the India Bike Week in Lonavala. In terms of engine, hardware, and features, the 50th Anniversary edition bike remains identical to the standard Z650RS.

2022 Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary edition – Design Highlights 

The new Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary edition features a brand new, Firecracker Red paint theme. The motorcycle also gets other exclusive details such as a commemorative “Z 50th” logo on the top of the bike’s fuel tank. Kawasaki retains the retro look of the motorcycle and offers a new Gold-coloured paint theme on the wheels and a new gloss black frame.

The brand revealed that the unique and exclusive ‘Firecracker Red’ colour scheme is curated using a unique painting process. The Z650RS features a candy colour across its bodywork and fuel tank, along with a rounded LED headlamp. The special edition motorcycle also gets an exclusive seat, an accessory rear grab bar, and an LED tail lamp.

2022 Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary edition – Technical specifications

Powering the Kawasaki Z650RS is a liquid-cooled 650cc 4-stroke parallel-twin engine. The engine produces 68 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. The motorcycle rides on 41mm inverted front forks with preload adjustability along with a Horizontal back-link, rear monoshock suspension.

The motorcycle also gets a trellis frame that weighs just 13.5 Kg for improved handling. The bike comes with a 12-litre fuel tank, 17-inch wheels, a seat height of 800mm, and 125mm of ground clearance. Braking power comes from semi-floating 300mm front discs with dual-piston callipers and a single 220mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. The Z650RS comes with an analogue-style speedometer and tachometer along with a multi-functional LCD screen.
