Kawasaki Will Go Full Electric by 2035

Kawasaki has revealed that the brand plans to go fully electric from the year 2035. The company’s president Hiroshi Ito made the declaration at Tokyo’s Port Hall Takeshiba. The Japanese brand will be offering at least ten or more hybrid vehicles by 2025. In addition to this, the brand will also offer electric, hybrid and alternative fuel-based vehicles. The brand in the recent past also teased a new hybrid-electric motorcycle that would be based on the Kawasaki Ninja 400, but completely modified to integrate a large battery and electric motor.

Kawasaki EV Endeavour

Team Green is working on the first-ever all-electric motorcycle named the Endeavour. Speculation is that the Kawasaki Endeavour will come with a 100% electric powertrain. The power unit will have enough juice to match the power of a 400cc motorcycle. The bike will come with a full-faired design along with the styling that will equal Kawasaki’s Ninja range of motorcycles. The technical specifications of the Kawasaki Endeavour are scarce but the brand reveals that the bike will come with CHAdeMO fast-charging capability along with KERS or the Kinetic Energy Recovery System. The unique electric motorcycle will also come with a 4-speed gearbox, giving the rider the feel of an ICE motorcycle. Kawasaki will soon reveal power output figures, specifications and features.

Kawasaki Hybrid Motorcycle

Kawasaki plans to leverage GPS technology to allow switching between electric power and ICE power. The hybrid motorcycle could run on completely electric power within the special EV Only zone in metro cities. This will enable the rider to switch to battery power without even flicking a switch. This will help the brand keep up with the future of emission norms. On the highway, the motorcycle will be able to automatically switch to petrol-power and zoom away. Also, the smart onboard electric system will be capable of recharging the battery of the motorcycle when running on petrol power.
