Honda Files Patents for NT1100 in India

Japanese motorcycle brand Honda has filed design patents for the recently launched touring motorcycle, the NT1100 in the Indian market. The patents of the Honda NT1100 have been filed at the Indian Intellectual Property Office leading us to believe that Honda is likely to introduce the touring motorcycle in India in the near future. The Indian market is currently showing large sales in the adventure and touring segments. The brand could be planning to take upon this opportunity thanks to the NT1100. The motorcycle is based on the popular Africa Twin, however, it is optimised for highway touring. The Honda NT1100 creates a perfect balance between a road touring motorcycle as well as a weekend adventure bike.

Honda NT1100 – Highlights

The Honda NT1100 features an upright design language with sleek LED headlamps and upswept LED DRLs on the front fascia. The rear gets a sleek tail section with LED lights. The touring style motorcycle features a tall windscreen integrated with wind deflectors. The NT1100 also comes with chiselled side panels and a muscular fuel tank. The bike also comes with a scooped seat for the rider along with a wide pillion seat for long-distance touring. The bike also features upright handlebars and mid-set footpegs. Honda also offers the NT1100 with a tail rack and provisions for the pannier boxes.

Honda NT1100 – Technical Specifications

Powering the NT1100 is a 1,048cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine. The engine produces 100 Bhp of power and 104 Nm of torque. The brand offers two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a DCT automatic. The motorcycle features a semi-double-cradle frame with a bolt-on aluminium subframe. The bike rides on 43 mm Showa USD forks on the front and a Showa mono-shock on the rear. Braking duties are handled by 310 mm twin discs with radially-mounted callipers on the front and a single 256 mm disc at the rear. The motorcycle also comes with a fuel tank capacity of 20 litres capable of providing a range of around 400 km.
