Harley-Davidson recalls Pan America 1250 Adventure Motorcycle

Harley-Davidson is recalling the Pan America 1250 adventure motorcycle in the international market. Reportedly the brand has found a problem with the instruments cluster. Sources suggest that the Pan America 1250 will recall the motorcycle in the North-American market. The motorcycle has gained quite a bit of popularity in a short amount of time in the North American market.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 – The Problem

The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 could have a problem with the instruments cluster of the motorcycle. According to reports, the full-digital dashboard may not display the speed indication and neutral gear indication. This only happens when the ambient temperature goes below zero degrees centigrade. This could pose as a safety hazard, in case someone is riding the motorcycle in such conditions. Incorrect speedometer reading and neutral indicator may pose a risk of a crash or injury. It is important to note that no crash, injury or death has been reported pertaining to this recall.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 – The Solution

The Harley-Davidson Pan America models sold between May 24 to October 19, 2021, maybe part of the recall. The company will fix the issue by updating the instruments cluster through software. Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 owners can bring their motorcycles to their nearest dealerships the fix the issue free of cost. The American motorcycle brand has not issued the same recall for the Indian market.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 – Seat Base Recall

In the recent past, Harley-Davidson also recalled the Pan America 1250 motorcycle for a lose threaded insert retention. The said part is part of the seat component – “Struct Tailsect Sub-compnt, Hand Hold”. The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250S manufactured between 8 March 2021 and 13 October 2021 could have the fault as per NHTSA. Under this recall, Harley-Davidson will be replacing the part number 47200713 Seat Base with an updated part. The brand has announced that Pan America 1250 owners with VIN range beginning 1HD1ZES19MB300609 and ending with 1HD1ZES16MB315889 (Non-Sequential) will receive a new part without any cost.
