Benelli has unveiled the 2022 Benelli Leoncino 125 at the EICMA 2021 show in Milan. The Chinese-owned Italian two-wheeler manufacturer will retail the 125cc scrambler motorcycle in the European markets. The Benelli Leoncino 125 is the entry-level scrambler family motorcycle in the brand’s portfolio. The 2022 Leoncino 125, draws inspiration from the design on the Leoncino 250 and Leoncino 500 but a smaller engine.
2022 Benelli Leoncino 125 – Design Highlights
The Benelli Leoncino 125 features a retro-classic scrambler design. The brand offers the motorcycle with two colour options – Grey and Green. The Leoncino 125 also comes with a unique Lion of Pesaro motif on the front fender. The motorcycle also gets a single-piece seat, a side-slung exhaust, a rear-fender mounted number plate, and split-style alloy wheels.
2022 Benelli Leoncino 125 – Technical Specifications
Powering the new Leoncino 125 is a 125cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces 12.8 PS of power and 10 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Benelli offers the motorcycle with an upside-down telescopic front fork suspension and a rear mono-shock. Braking duties are handled by petal-type brake discs on both ends along with 17-inch wheels.
2022 Benelli Leoncino 125 – Competition
While Benelli has not revealed if the brand plans to bring the Leoncino 125 to the Indian market. If the Italian manufacturer does bring the new 2022 Leoncino 125 to India, the bike will lock horns with the KTM and Bajaj motorcycles. These include KTM Duke 125 and Bajaj Pulsar NS125.
Other Launches From Benelli at EICMA 2021
Benelli also unveiled its new TRK 800 adventure motorcycle at EICMA 2021. The brand plans to advance its adventure portfolio for the international markets thanks to the new TRK 800. The new adventure bike will make its debut in the 2nd half of 2022. Benelli is also likely to launch the new TRK 800 in the Indian market which will position itself above the TRK 502 and TRK 502X.
